    biography

    A Canadian-born woman of colour of Caribbean-Afro-Asian descent, Lisa is a Yoga & Mindful Movement Teacher. A practitioner of yoga since 2001, Lisa is passionate about helping others, especially with relaxation and self-care, which led her to become a Thai Massage Practitioner, Holistic Nutritionist, Sound Healing Practitioner, and Reiki Practitioner. She sees mindfulness as a vehicle for mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual transformation. She is inspired by & inspires others through yoga-based practices, writing, dance, and authentic self-expression.

    Guided by the principle of metta (loving-kindness), Lisa is sensitive and intuitive. She creates a supportive and safe environment for meditation & healing.

    As a Women’s Studies graduate of York University and former board member of the York Women’s Centre, she has a particular interest in supporting women, particularly women of colour.

    Lisa embraces a lifestyle of balance, promotes play & believes in the power of (self-)love. She is a lover of music, particularly soulful House music, which she combines with creatively choreographed sequences in one of her signature Yoga Rhythms offerings, HouseYoga.

    Lisa is consistently striving to explore and deepen her spiritual practice. Her goal is to make healing & creativity as accessible as possible to diverse populations of people.
